Movie Theater Time!!!
[info]holybe1l
I saw the Evangelion 1.0 movie in theatre on September 30, so this entry is late. ^^; I was chosen as one of the two winners to see the movie in my city. (Granted that my city never attracts anything big.) I won it at Anime News Network! Awesome! ^___^ I never won anything from there, so this was an awesome treat. I was thinking that I would be seeing the subbed version, but I then realized that it has to be dub since it is in North American theatres. Oh, well. I wonder what it was like since I saw the 1.1 version. That day wasn't that well. For one, I was sick (coughing) and I'm going to the theatre. *sigh* And two, it was cold and wet. There was a draw before the movie started. Unfortunately, I didn't win. Either the numbers were too low or too high. -_____-' Oh, well. Not that I mind anyways. Plus I tried to not cough, but it was impossible!!! ;____________; Well, I tried my best to contain it. As for the movie, it was almost the exact same thing as 1.1 (though I cannot tell what is the difference... o.O). I found the dub pretty good for I'm not a hardcore dub fan and the main character a bit not into the character, but that was just a minor issue. I was told by two people who sat in front of me (One of them a winner though I'm not sure he was the other ANN winner... o.O) and said that they changed a lot of stuff in the movie (in terms of the CG). Overall, I had a fun time watching it in front of the big screens despites some obstacles hindering my day. ^________________________________________^

Eh, B-Day.
[info]holybe1l
So, my birthday past about a week ago. I didn't do much nor celebrated it though I did get a whole lobster from my aunt's restaurant as a present two days later. Oh, gawd!!! It was so good... =w= It was as if I was in heaven. =w= It is just like the picture below.

Me want more NOW!!! ^^

At the Awesome Bluesfest
[info]holybe1l
When it comes to the start of July, one of the biggest and most popular events in my hometown is the Bluesfest. Bluesfest is the place where bands/singers do concerts and hundreds and thousands of people attending them. It's crazy I tell you. It started out as groups celebrating the Blues and Roots music, but later it branched out to many genres. This year I decided to volunteer as I want to do something. One of my friends from high school put up a notice on MSN and that caught my attention.

Originally I wanted to do seven shifts, but that was too much so I narrowed it down to five (3 in the afternoon; 2 in the evening; all on separate days). I want to narrow it more, but I kind of forgot to change it. ^^; My first shift, I did not do anything which was a bummer. If you can count my less than eight minutes of doing something productive, would you consider that I did something? What I did was to make sure no litter or leaning was allowed in the isle only to tell my leader there that my shift was over. Second shift I did the same job but at another location (in the front) to make sure only special pass people are allowed. Later, I opened/closed the gates where only people with special passes, people who are definitely leaving and staff members are allowed in (or out in the for regular visitors). Me and my partner had fun telling those that they are not permitted to pass through. ^^ Lol. However, the day was horrible on that day. It was raining. It was cold and I only had a one-layered t-shirt on me. (So much for the green team handing out garbage bags to us. >_> They were suppose to give on to us for the rain.) My hairs on my skin was raised up. Fortunately, the rain was brief.
On the third one, I did the bike park with other volunteers. That is where people take care of other people's bike while the people attend the concert(s). We had to direct bikes to the racks and place them there with a number tag. A brief period of rain ensued at the end.
On the next one, I helped out that the Hard Rock Café. All I did there was handing out food to volunteers. They were gobbled out very quickly. Everyone had to clean up and was later let out early. I came home an hour earlier than what my shift was suppose to end.
And finally the last one. I signed up as a beer cashier. By the job, I know what that means, but I did not know what it would be. Would it be electronic or not? Unfortunately, it was the latter... >_> I had to use my unused brain to do the math calculations. Oh, boy. The whole job was a terror. (I can see what another volunteer meant when she said she did not want to do it... =_=) The line-up was long. I know nothing of the alcoholic beverages so I had to rely on a partner of mine and to tell me the price of the drinkse. I had to do constant checks with her to see if my money calculations was right... ^^; I came home at 11 p.m., half an hour earlier.

About the third shift, I'm glad that I signed up at that time (afternoon) and not having to start in the evening. Why? Because Kiss, the band, was there. I could imagine the chaos if I had to take part. Before the show started, I saw some hardcore fans dressed up in outfits of Kiss. It was cool. Some of my partners whom I worked with at the bike park took some pictures of them. Lol. As for the concert itself, lots of people were there and there were some spewing outside of the fence, some even camped outside. ^^

Yep. Yep. It was fun and awesome (besides the labour I had to do). I'll probably sign up again next year for the next Bluesfest. Now time to relax.... ^_______________^

Attending a Public Discussion
[info]holybe1l
This is about a public discussion that I attended with my friend and her friends on June 1st of 2009. I found out about it when I was browsing my Facebook account and saw this news posted by her (my friend). It was about strokes. Topic: How you can learn how to minimize your risks, why time is brain, and find out stroke resources in my region. For me who have a short attention span, I found the discussion very enlightening such as getting strokes from dental problems (i.e., gum diseases, plaque; better brush and floss those teeth!) and genetically (though that does not commit you to have one). I also saw a patient (now a chair of the heart institute) who experienced the symptoms of a stroke. Because of his strong will, he managed to avoid death after loosing his balance and fainting soon after.
The discussion was also interactive with the audience. There was one person who talked about his father. The father had a stroke and failed to received treatment due to a delay to find out what the cause is. He died soon after. I felt sorry for the person of this father because he went through a lot with his brother and his family and having filed a lawsuit against the board, only for it to be dismissed. You can feel the tone of his voice as he said it out loud.
The discussion lasted for two hours. From my point of view, it was too short, but I do hope there will be more in the future. ^^b I was told to do a survey, but I did not. I'm indifferent to them, but I just don't know what to say. Lol!! ^^;

Overall, I liked the public discussion that I attended and I don't mind attending another one like this one or on any subject for that matter.

Weather for that day: Rainy.

Oh, My Bottom... >_
[info]holybe1l
I cannot believe it happened down there and I mean there. So it all started a day or two days ago that I went to the bathroom to excrete the excrement out of my body. It did not come out so I tried to force it out many times, but no luck. The next day I felt some bumps around you know where and I'm like WTF?! o_o I thought it was some fluke or something. It hurts when I tried sitting down. I thought it would go away the next day, but I was so wrong. That morning, it got even more worse than I thought: more bumps and a polyp can be seen among them. I showed it to my mother and she decided to take me to the clinic to check it out since I was unsure where this clinic was. My mother left after that.
I showed it to the nurse there and she noted that it was serious alright. Turns out that I have hemorrhoids. She tried pushing these hemorrhoids back into you know where, but since the opening was too sore, that could not be done. I was then suggested to go to the hospital to get it check out. (The clinic does not have the equipment to deal with these hemorrhoids.) Waited a long time before a doctor came to check them out and she, too, said the same thing: it was serious. She cut a piece of the hemorrhoids to puncture it and cannot do anymore as the other ones are too scarred. A modest amount of blood ensue after that cut. I rested after that for about 10-15 minutes before I was told to go to another special clinic to deal with it since the place specializes in it. Now I have to make an appointment tomorrow to see what the people there could do about it.
Oh, boy oh boy, why does it have to happen to me?

Computer Excel Theory Quiz
[info]holybe1l
This happened last Tuesday, when my class had a quiz on that day. I didn't study that much for it. Our female teacher gave us a thirty minute multiple-choice electronic quiz to take. The questions are generated differently for each person. As I answered each question, something puzzles me. Why was I able to breeze through the quiz so easily? Usually, for any quiz I take, it would take me the full time to do, but not this one. I noticed soon after that each of my quiz answers were so easily. One of them goes something like this: The horizontal axis is called __________. I may not be that smart, but even I knew the answer without needing to study for it. I stumbled a bit on the last question, but it wasn't too hard. Of course, at the end, I got a 10/10 on it!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^________________^ My friends, however, weren't as fortunate as me. One of them felt that out of the 10 questions that she answered, five of them were hard. I showed her my questions and she was flabbergasted at the questions that were given to me. She, too, said those types of questions were easy. (Some of our classmates were loud and disrupted others who were still continuing to do it.)
One of the most shocking things that I found (by words of mouth) is that after I and my friends finished our quiz, two classmates were caught cheating. One of them was helping the other on the quiz. Each of them were sent outside to get a word from our teacher (she's very nice, by the way) and again to both of them at the end of the class. She scolded the victim for not refusing the help. When the whole thing was over and some time later, I think I saw her the victim's face was red with sadness, fear, and shame. Maybe it was because of this incident? Anyways, I don't know what happen after. Maybe they got away with it? Who knows. I'm glad that I'm not them, the people who would cheat on a test.

Aftermath of March Break
[info]holybe1l
March break had passed and I didn't to much other than the fact that I had to go to school during that week. I had my March break a week earlier than the others and I envied to those that have it after me. It was nice to see some girls clad in green clothes and a couple with the shamrock head bands to take part in this festival event.

Less Course
[info]holybe1l
I would never take full time at school anymore. It's too stressful and I dropped two courses because of it. Also, I don't see myself doing that career anymore with all the writing and everything. (I'm not too keen on the writing aspect of it or for any course.)  I'm retaining the other three and at least finish them before picking another program to enroll in. Maybe a part-time one.

The Joy of Winter
[info]holybe1l
I hate winter, but I missed the activities that occurred every winter. I missed going to take part in the Winterlude event. You can eat beaver tails (see below image), see ice sculptures that had been craved by artists around the world and awarded the top prize from the competition if you are winner, skating on the canal and so much more. Then again, I was too lazy and the weather was really cold. >_< Lol. Maybe I'll go next year.

(Image of a beaver tail.)

P.S. You have to try those beaver tails. They're so tasty. Originated here in the nation's capital, there are so many variations. The above image contains brown sugar on pan-fried dough. Mmmm... So good! ~________~

My Brother's Birthday
[info]holybe1l
So, it was my younger brother's birthday. There was no party for it; just a simple one. My family ate cake, chips and drank some soft drinks. I wish we had pizza though. It tastes much better than cake. -_- Too bad we didn't celebrate my younger sister's birthday though.  Her birthday was a week earlier than my brother's.

Bus Strike is Over!!!
[info]holybe1l
★(o≧□≦)o★ YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!  x inifinity.

That's all I could say.

I'm AM SO GLAD that the bus strike is over! Imagine a bus strike that lasted for 53 days! >_< Especially at the height of the Christmas season. You could image the lost of revenue to all the business affected by the strike and paralyzing all the citizen including myself. Not to mention my ordeal of having to walk about an hour (longer due to the winter), to get to the destination to take a shuttle bus to school. Arragh. Anyways, I'm jumping in joy for that the transit bus are back!!!!!! 6((((≧▽≦))))9

Helping those in need to not so good weeks.
[info]holybe1l
Dear Journal/Visitors,
I would like to comment something that happened around five days ago. When I was walking back from UofO in the evening (stupid bus strike... >_>), I came across a crippled old man with his walker. I could tell that he was going to go into this lady's minivan and was trying to around to the other front side so that he could get into it. Apparently, he had some difficulty with it and me being there at the right time, asked me if I could help him. Of course, I did not know if I should not not, but I went to help this poor old man. I guided him around the other side of the car, but boy did I have trouble folding up his wheeling walker because I did not know how to (given that I had no instructions to help me there), but I manage to fold it up and placed it in the car. The old man thanked me (and I believe the woman as well) and went on my way. Doing the good deed that I did there, I felt really happy since (in my view) I am not a usually a helpful person.

Anyways, back to today's event, I'm in a panicking mode. You see, I had enrolled in a program called Office Administration and there are two courses that I absolutely hate; the ones that I am talking about are the theory classes. I'm quite inexperience with the concepts being learned in these classes. I have some major assignments assigned to me and I have no friggin clue as to know what to talk/write about. It is already the middle of the week for one of the assignments and nothing is coming into my head. Sure, I could look some ideas online, but after that, I am stuck in the same situation. I could drop these courses for the moment, but I do not want to waste the money I spent on this program. The options I could take are 1) stick with it so I could get the diploma/certificate for my completion, 2) Temporarily drop these two courses and take them at a later date or 3) similiar to #2 and drop it completely. I could at least gain some knowledge from my other classes. WHAT SHOULD I DO? ;_;
You may ask why I even bothered to sign up this program even though I do not like it? I signed up because I want to try something knew and the other programs for this winter 2008-2009 have no interests for me at all.

Why December of All Months? =__=
[info]holybe1l
So another day, another life. Things couldn't get any worse. For one thing there is a transit strike in my community. Yes, I understand the views of the strikers (something about seniority), but honestly at this time of a year? =_= Students have to take exams, citizens need the bus in order to get to their jobs, etc. *sigh* I feel like yelling at the protesters. Couldn't they have done after the holidays?

Anyways, on the 16th, my family members and I are going to attend our grandfather's funeral in which he passed away earlier this December month. I also have an appointment to meet at the college that I'm going to attended, but you know what? Because of the transit strike I will have to find alternative means to get there and no, I don't plan to take the taxi nor carpooling. Maybe biking on that sunny winter day? (I normally don't bike during the winter season.) Plus there are snow on the ground, so yeah, so much for my upcoming plans. =_=

Completely Forgotten Journal!!
[info]holybe1l
Oh, dear. I completely forgot about this journal. Sorry, I did not mean to do that. >_< Whether you choose to hear my reasons as an excuse or not is up to you. Anyways, I'm very forgetful, so yeah. I'll try my best to keep this journal updated as much as possible.
